Job responsibilities will include:

• Trading intraday power in UK and Europe where you maximize PnL within our risk and compliance framework

• Developing and executing day-to-day and intraday trading strategies

• Taking active part in developing and executing of algorithmic trading and automatization

• Optimizing portfolios and exploiting the synergies between them

• Conducting market analysis to find new profit opportunities and build strategies to tap into them

• Taking responsibility for optimizing our daily procedures

• Providing open and honest feedback  

• Constantly reviewing and reflecting on your own trading to look for ways to improve the performance, both your own and of the team

• Participating in the shift rotation that includes day, evening and weekend shifts

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• A passion for trading

• At least 1-2 years of experience in an intraday power trading role

• Finance/Economics or STEM degree

• Fast decision-making skills under pressure

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Competitive attitude and Focus on results

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team

• Flexibility in terms of working hours

The role

Centrica Energy is a leading power and gas trading company that has a strong presence in Europe, with further plans to globally expand our business into the American and Asian markets. Currently, our European Intraday Power trading desks are looking to hire power traders for the Copenhagen and Aalborg desks.

We are looking for a motivated team player, who thrives while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment. We want you to join our desk and help us deliver the best trading results in the European power markets.
